OUR STORY
Hello, my name is Jose Martinez. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I have currently been married for fifteen years. Together, my wife and I have been serving within the Teen Challenge ministry for more than eighteen years.
Unfortunately, much of my youth was spent in addiction and gang activities, but because of God’s grace, my story with Teen Challenge was the beginning, not the end. After being charged, in 1999, with violent motor vehicle theft, I was facing sixteen years in prison.
However, in 2001, while I was still in prison, God supernaturally opened a door for me to enroll into Teen Challenge. In 2002, I graduated from Teen Challenge at the Sanford, Florida location. Then I continued and graduated from Teen Challenge Int. Ministry Institute in Jacksonville, Florida in 2003.
In 2004, I became a Certified Assembly of God Minister in the South Eastern Spanish District (now FMDC). I continued my credentials through the Dominican Republic A.G. Council. In 2012, I receive my ordination. In 2016, I transferred my credentials to the Oklahoma A.G. District with my wife who also is a licensed minister of the Assembly of God.
In December 2019, I had been appointed as the new President / CEO of Teen Challenge of Puerto Rico. Today we have more than 90 students in 3 different center around the island. God has place a vision to expand the ministry to continue provide the proven solution to life-controlling problems by Putting Hope Within Reach of Every Addict through the Teen Challenge ministry.
